Ms. Adams feels that she cannot judge others in her industry, but rather acknowledge that she provides honest, compassionate care for everyone that she serves.
What has been the most outstanding thing you have done thus far in your career?:
The greatest achievement of her career was being a part of changing nursing from bedside care to leadership care, where she was able to teach people what she knew and offer support when needed.
Expanded Biography:
Ms. Adams lives by the golden rule "do onto others as you would have them do unto you." She has learned from everyone above her in her field who made her a better nurse, from procedures, medication, to expectation of care. The families of patients even taught her ways to help her better understand the population she serves. She never thinks she has all the answers and enjoys learning from others. Integrity is also important to her, and she has never lied in her profession, even if it mean that she had to take a big hit, which she has taken huge hits on occasion.
Throughout the duration of your career, what was the one highlight that stood out the most?:
The most gratifying aspect of her career is when her patients and residents are taken care of in the highest degree possible-physically, mentally and spiritually.

Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession when she started working as a candy striper and then decided that she wanted to become a nurse.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Adams has been a registered nurse for 44 years. She was one of the first nurses to take care of patients after open heart surgery at Scott & White Hospital. She was also one of the first registered nurses in the dialysis unit, and helped to initiate its setup.
