He became involved in the local government profession when Commerce City hired him to direct its long-term parks, trails and open space planning efforts, and implement a complex regional trail project with three other major cities and a nonprofit in the Denver Metro area.

Mr. Acre is the former deputy city manager of Commerce City.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Managed various internal and external services, which included acquisition of water resources, championing the city’s sustainability efforts, finance and budgeting, relationship facilitation with various agencies and public including development of the Prairie Gateway project (formerly a portion of the Rocky Mountain Aresenal), use of Natural Resource Damage Assessments funds for the NE Greenway Corridor, oil and gas/hydraulic fracturing citizen concerns, and numerous other projects enhancing the image of Commerce City, as well as assisting the city manager where needed
